C.Sc in History of Philosophy, Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Budapest, 1999. Thesis title: "Unus et omnia: Kozmológiai-teológiai tárgyú értekezések a hellenisztikus kori peripatetikus irodalomban" [Unus et Omnia: Cosmo‑theological Treatises in the Peripatetic Literature of the Hellenistic Period]. The thesis offers a reconstruction of the theological activity in Aristotelian circles after Theophrastus and before Andronicus of Rhodes with a special attention to three pseudepigrapha: the pseudo-Aristotelian De Melisso, Xenophane et Gorgia (MXG) and the De mundo, and the pseudo-Ocellian De universi natura. I propose to date all three treatises to the relevant period. The appendix inculdes an edition of the MXG.

I am using English for professional and private purposes, written and oral. I read academic German and French, and have a basic knowledge of Italian and Modern Greek.
I have graduated in Classical Greek, and have a basic knowledge of Latin and Syriac.
III. ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE
1. Research
From September 1992 to December 1996 with interruptions, I was a Ph.D assistant at the Department of Metaphysics, Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, Faculty of Humanities, working on theological treatises in the pseudo-Aristotelian corpus under the supervision of Dr. Kornél Steiger.
In the academic year 1994/95 I suspended my studies in Budapest and spent a year at Oxford University, Pembroke College as a graduate visiting student with the financial support of the Soros Foundation and the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office. I studied History of Christian Doctrine under the supervision of Rt. Revd. Dr. Kallistos T. Ware.
From September 1996 I have been a Ph.D student in Medieval Studies at the Central European University with the topic "Icons before Iconoclasm".
In the academic year 1997/98 I was a Senior Associate Member of St. Anthony's College, Oxford, continuing my researches on images in the Early Church under the direction of Prof. Averil Cameron.
From September 2001 to January 2002 I was a research fellow at the Department of Ancient and Medieval Philosophy, ELTE University, Faculty of Humanities, Budapest. The title of project was "Images of God in Late Antiquity".
2. Academic organization
In 1999 I co-ordinated an international summer university program at the Central European University on "The Many Cultural Centres of the Early Medieval Oecumene".
In 2000 I co-ordinated an international conference on the "The Eucharist in Theology and Philosophy: Issues of Doctrinal History in East and West, from the Patristic Age to the Reformation", Central European University Budapest ‑ Benedictine Abbey, Tihany 25‑29th October, 2000.
In 2001 I was the co-organiser of the First and the Second Hungarian National Congress on Christian Antiquity" (21-23 June 2001/ 21‑23 June 2002).
From January 1999 to 2002 February I have been the secretary of the History of Philosophy Section of the Hungarian Philosophical Society with a responsibility of organising the sessions.
February 2002-June 2004 general secretary of the Hungarian Patristic Society.
From July 2004 to June 2010 and from July 2012 member of the Presidental Board of the Hungarian Patristic Society

3. Teaching

Since February 2002 I have been an associate professor of Ancient and Medieval Philosophy at the Department of Philosophy, University of Debrecen.
From September 2006 until June 2008 I was a part-time associate professor at the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, King Sigismund College, Budapest
From September 2008 until June 2011 I taught New Testament Greek at the "Sola Scriptura" Adventist Theological College.
